Black Hawk Down
1993, Mogadishu, Somalia; a daylight raid to kidnap fierce terrorist Mohammed Farrah Aidid is underway and progresses with clockwork precision. Suddenly, a huge explosion is heard up ahead, and the words “Black Hawk Down, Black Hawk Down” are frantically repeated across the airwaves!
An RPG has hit an allied Black Hawk helicopter sent in to airlift US soldiers, and it lies, crash-landed in the heart of war-torn Mogadishu.
This mission has abruptly changed to a rescue operation, and you are to lead a crack team of Commandos to the wreckage and extract the pilot, the sole survivor of the crash. With little time for planning, this will be difficult and fraught with danger. The severely injured pilot must be reached before the Somali militia surround the wreckage and remove him for interrogation and certain torture.
This is where years of intense training pay off. Your tight-knit unit will have to gain ground fast and must have each other’s backs; no man stands alone, no man left behind. Failure is not an option!
Are You Brave Enough?
Black Hawk Down was our first themed Movie-Set paintball game. This game is set in around 6 acres and is based in a shantytown-style decrepit Somali village. The centrepiece is a real Wessex helicopter that saw active service in the Falklands War and has real bullet holes sustained from enemy fire.
The objective of the game is usually to ‘Extract the pilot’ before the enemy can eliminate him. Teams start at opposite ends of the field, and it’s a race to gain ground quickly to secure a perimeter around the helicopter. The pilot must then be safely escorted to the green zone in order to gain points.
All games at our Yorkshire Paintball Centre are carefully designed and built by a team of specialist set-builders. We pride ourselves on being a world-leading paintball venue with state-of-the-art equipment, amazing facilities, and fantastic games.
Our award-winning, themed game scenarios have been likened to something out of a Hollywood film set. We’re often referred to as the Disneyland of Paintball – not bad going for a paintball site in little old Doncaster, South Yorkshire!
